Conference Info

Good evening, Marlins!

I have some updates about our Conference Meet. Devon has had a very rocky year, as their fearless leader, Kay Memmer, has been in and out of the hospital several times in the last six weeks. The info coming from them is unpredictable, so just know that I will keep you updated as I am informed. That said, here are the highlights:

July 13, 2024 

This year’s meet will be held at North Central High School, 1801 E. 86th St., Indianapolis, IN 46240. Entry to the pool will be through Door 23. Due to construction at the school, you will need to enter the property from Westfield Blvd. Use the stop light at the Jordan YMCA. This meet will be held in one session with 2 pools running simultaneously. One pool will be ages 7/8, 9/10, and 15/17. The other pool will be ages 11/12, 13/14. The doors will open at 7:30am, with warm- ups beginning at 8am and a meet start time of 9am. (6 and unders who have not competed in any 25 yard event, will not be attending conference.

Each swimmer is permitted to enter a maximum of 3 individual events and 2 relays OR 4 individual events and no relays. The cost of each individual event is $2.50 and the cost for the relays is $6.50. Because of this cost, we need to know if your child will be swimming FOR SURE. No backsies. Once you hit "confirm attendance", you are committed. Please attend. Warm ups and Meet Schedule

 ● 7:30 am - doors open to teams/spectators 

● 8:00 - 8:45 am - all teams will be able to warm up simultaneously, Each team will be assigned 4 lanes in either the diving-board end pool or the main pool. 

● 8:40 am Volunteer meeting in Hospitality Room off the pool deck 

● 9:00 am Meet Start 

General Information ● All spectator admission is free ● $2.00 for Heat Sheet (credit card only please) ● No adults other than coaches and volunteers will be allowed on the pool deck during the duration of the meet. Parents will drop their kids off at the entrance of the pool and then proceed to the bleachers. ● All teams will have their assigned camp area on the pool deck. ● No gum ● No use of diving boards ● No running/horseplay ● NO CONCESSIONS WILL BE AVAILABLE. Please tell your parents to bring their own food.(They have since said that they will have concessions. Bring food just in case.) ● There will be a hospitality room available for coaches, officials, and volunteers, and coaches in the classroom off the pool deck. Wristbands will be available for all volunteers and coaches at the Entrance table. Please send (to Jim Harland - email address below) or bring a paper copy of your volunteer list on July 13 so that volunteers can be checked-in and given a wristband for hospitality room entrance.
